Today, many political processes, as well as the activities of state bodies, are moving to the digital environment. Much attention from the state is now paid to information posted on Internet resources, including social networks. With the help of the Internet space, an opinion is formed about the activities of not only an individual or a company, but also entire states. In connection with the foregoing, state bodies in their activities refer to the methods of working with information used in the framework of business processes. OSINT, or Open Source Intelligence, has become a popular trend and has become known as Competitive Intelligence. Consider the relevance of the application of competitive intelligence methods in the activities of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs responsible for covering the activities of police officers in the media, options for the algorithm for conducting search activities and emphasis in its implementation.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The role of information technology in the life of modern society is undeniably large.
