The article discusses the geoinformation systems (GIS) and creation of geoinformation technologies (GIТ) which allow to analyze operatively and in detail the geographically connected information of various alternative variants of energy supplies. The author assesses the possibilities of using wind power resources and creates a database in the field of energy supplies in remote areas of the country. Using the theoretical calculations, the author deduces some empirical equations, makes a map of wind power resources for GIS, and substantiates the power, economic and environmental potentials for implementing the state programmes in Turkmenistan on the basis of renewable energy resources.
